How to connect a bluetooth headset to your Apple TV

THE Apple TV 4th generation, in addition to allowing applications to be installed on it, it also allows us to connect bluetooth accessories, such as headphones. This is ideal when you want to watch a movie or play without disturbing the people around you. I wish all televisions would allow that!

In this article, we’ll show you how easy it is to connect a bluetooth headset to your Apple TV.

First of all, you need to have a wireless headset, like this one, or a bluetooth adapter for regular headphones.

Now turn on your Apple TV, as everything will be done there. Let’s go to the steps:

Pairing a Bluetooth headset

Step 1: Open the Settings your Apple TV.

Step 2: Go in Remote Controls and Devices.

Step 3: You will see the option Bluetooth. Click on it.

Step 4: Now you need to pair your phone. Each has a specific way to start pairing, but it usually works by pressing its main button for 5 seconds. With that, it should appear on the screen as an option in Other Devices. When that happens, select it.

Ready. From this moment on, all the sound on the TV goes through the headset, with no one else listening.

Unfortunately, you cannot connect more than one audio device at the same time, so there is no way for two people to listen to the same movie through two different headphones.

Changing the audio output

When you want the sound to work on the TV again, just turn off the bluetooth headset. If you want to make this change manually, do the following:

Step 1: On Apple TV, go to Settings> Audio and Video.

Step 2: Select option Audio Output.

Step 3: Change where you want the audio to go.

To unpair the handset

If you want to permanently unpair your Apple TV headset, just follow the first 4 steps at the beginning of this article and select the device you want to unpair.
