Arrival of new MacBooks Air could coincide with subsequent launch of new chips from Intel

The news that the MacBook Air could be updated with new models soon (or tomorrow, who knows) coincided with the leak of more official information about new Intel processors, which should form a new line for ultraportables according to recent information from company. Available in the Core i3, i5 and i7 families, the new low-power chips are possible candidates for integrating new models of Apple's ultralight notebook and today.

These will be chips based on the same manufacturing process as the Core i5 and i7 used in the 15 and 17 inch MacBooks Pro, but will run at lower speeds for notebooks with limited thermal envelope. Their processing power, however, will be quite efficient (especially for applications with support for multiple cores), but lose a bit in the graphical issue when compared to NVIDIA solutions.

If Apple adopts a processor from the new line of Intel as an option for the MacBook Air, it will be required to use only the integrated graphics of that same chip, which may not be something well accepted by users. However, this remote possibility: if we take as an example what happened with the 13-inch MacBook Pro, Apple is likely to be restricted to a conventional Core 2 Duo processor and use the new GeForce 320M in its ultralight notebook, leaving the future roadmap from Intel for another opportunity.
