Express public transport mode
On a related note, the Apple Pay feature focused on public transportation was recently expanded in China, as reported by the South China Morning Post.
Like express public transport mode, users can only bring their iPhones and Apple Watches closer to the turnstiles to free access without the need to authenticate the operation using Face / Touch ID.
The mode was already available in China, but only in the cities of Beijing and Shanghai – using local transport cards. Now, Apple has partnered with the cards T-Union, which are accepted in 275 Chinese cities – greatly expanding the reach of the resource there.
