The new version of Android has adopted some news and features from manufacturers, which makes the system as a whole much more intelligent. This is the case for battery saving mode and priority notifications. Now, another function inspired by the Moto X screen will be made available to many other devices with the Android 5.0 distribution.

This feature was absent in the Android L preview, and has been integrated into the definitive Android 5.0 Lollipop: with the so-called “Ambient Display”, the smartphone’s screen is activated when you pick up the device or when a notification arrives. Generally speaking, it is the “Active Display” (or Moto Display) of Moto X.
According to Google, this feature will be integrated with all devices that install Android 5.0 Lollipop and have compatible hardware (which is the case with most flagships on the market). One more reason, therefore, to wait for the arrival of Android Lollipop.
