YouTube now automatically plays videos from the home page when you open the app on Android and iPhone (iOS) phones. However, the user can disable the function at any time in the platform settings. By default, the feature is enabled only when the smartphone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, to avoid unnecessary data consumption. Even so, some people may find the change uninteresting.
O dnetc prepared the following tutorial that teaches you how to disable automatic video playback on the YouTube home screen. The procedures were performed on a Moto E4 running Android 7.1.1 Nougat and on an iPhone 8 running iOS 12. The walkthrough also applies to other versions of the Google and Apple operating systems.

Step 1. Open the YouTube app and tap on your profile photo in the upper right corner of the screen. Then open "Settings";

Step 2. In the application settings, go to "AutoPlay" and then tap "AutoPlay on the Home tab";
