Young people are using AirPods to chat “quietly” in the classroom

If you have children or preteens at home, then you should know that it is enough determination for them to do exactly what they want – and when a troupe joins that board, the result is even better.

I say this because, recently, a “trick” disclosed in a video published in TikTok gave something to talk about: two students, each with a pair of AirPods, showed how to talk during class without actually talking to each other. They basically exchanged one side of the AirPods with each other and used the app Google translator to type and play a message, allowing the other person (with the other side of the AirPods) to hear what was written.

Although they used Google software to write and reproduce the message, any text-to-speech app should work. The idea is quite ingenious – but not at all hygienic. ?

The concept of sharing AirPods was, in a way, promoted by Apple some time ago: who remembers the company’s 2017 Christmas commercial? In it, a woman shares one of her headphones with another boy who starts dancing to the music she was listening to – and the two of them, together, can hear it.

Currently, however, it is easier to do this with a feature that shares audio with up to two AirPods, as we highlighted in this video.

Has anyone there used the technique to talk when they couldn’t with someone? Personally, I liked the “magic pens” more, which only showed what was written in black light, but that was when mobile technology still didn’t rule the classroom.
