THE Xiaomi obviously admires Apple a lot. The Chinese company has already demonstrated this profound reverence with designs clearly inspired by the Apple and even a CEO who presents himself in clothes similar to the famous uniform of Steve Jobs. Look, it’s not a copy, it’s a tribute.
Today, the company presented a series of new products that, once again, make this admiration clear. For example, take a look at the beautiful Mi Notebook Pro:
Especially if you cover the top and ignore the ultra-thin-edged screen that visually differs from your twin’s more traditional panel, Xiaomi’s new creation is undeniably a great homage to the MacBook Pro. But, of course, the Chinese uses this reference beyond the blunt just as a starting point to affirm that her product is far superior to her source of inspiration; for example, the Mi Notebook Pro features two common USB ports, an HDMI output, an SD card slot and two USB-C ports, eliminating the need for multiple adapters from Apple’s competitor.

In addition, as its inspiring muse, the Mi Notebook Pro features a fingerprint sensor and a motionless trackpad with a pressure sensor. The internal components are also reasonably similar, with Intel Core i5 or i7 processors, graphics chips from NVIDIA and 8GB or 16GB of RAM. A disadvantage compared to the MacBook Pro is the screen – here, we have a 15.6-inch panel and a mere 1080p. It costs much less than its counterpart, starting at $ 850 (~ R $ 2,600), but – at least for now – it is only available in China.

In turn, the smartphone Mi Mix 2 it has no clear reference to the design of Apple devices, but it does bring a screen with the same design paradigm that the Cupertino company will introduce tomorrow, with the “iPhone X” – although it is reasonable to say that Xiaomi was the pioneer in this trend, with the original Mi Mix.
The Mi Mix 2 features an impressive design, with an almost end-to-end screen of 5.99 inches and a ceramic body (surrounded by aluminum or unibody, in the case of the most expensive special edition). Inside, we have 6GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, 12 megapixel rear camera and rear digital sensor; the system is Android 7.0 “Nougat” with the MIUI 9 adaptation of Xiaomi itself. Ah, another tribute to Apple that we have here – this, really inglorious – is the lack of an outlet for headphones.
The Mi Mix 2 starts at ¥ 3,300 (~ R $ 1,600) and is already available in pre-order in China, where it will be launched on the 15th. According to the manufacturer, it will not be available in Western countries – so, if you are interested, good luck with the importers.

Finally, we have the Mi Note 3, a more “traditional” device – and one that reflects Xiaomi’s admiration for Apple more than its different cousin. Here, we have a 5.5 inch screen, front biometric sensor, 16 megapixel rear camera and facial recognition system; the design features two pieces of glass combined by an aluminum side (if that sounded familiar, it must not have been a coincidence).
The Mi Note 3 will be available in China starting tomorrow, starting at ¥ 2,500 (~ R $ 1,200).
