WWDC 2019: Watching the Apple Event and Getting to Know the New iOS 13 | Audio and Video

Apple is expected to announce iOS 13 during WWDC 2019, which starts on Monday (3). The system is expected to bring news to the iPhone and iPad home screen, including a dark mode. Updates are also awaited for macOS, which could make the Mac compatible with apps from the App Store, as well as improved versions for Apple TV's tvOS, and Apple Watch's watchOS.

The World Developers Conference is scheduled to take place at the McEnery Convention Center in California, starting at 2:00 pm PST. The event will be broadcast live via the Internet. Here's how to watch Apple's online releases.

How to watch Apple's event in real time

The conference will be available on Apple's official events page: https://www.apple/apple-events/livestream/. The user can schedule an alert to be notified when the broadcast begins: just enjoy the event tute on the company's official Twitter account (@apple). You can watch the event from your computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux), Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, provided they meet the following requirements:

  • Windows: Microsoft Edge Browser with Windows 10;
  • Mac: Safari browser with macOS Sierra 10.12 or higher;
  • Linux: In recent versions of Google Chrome or Firefox and support for MSE, H.264 and AAC audio and video codecs;
  • Mobile devices: iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch with Safari and iOS 10 or higher;
  • Apple TV: 2nd generation or later with tvOS 6.2 or higher via the Events app.

Rumors suggest that iOS 13 will focus more on changes of user experience, leaving aside more innovative functions. One would be the supposed dark mode, which has been around in macOS since the Mojave version. A new keyboard sliding typing feature and support for multiple user accounts on the same iPhone are also expected.

At macOS, the big expectation around the news for the Marzipan project, which involves adapting iOS apps to run on Mac. Apple has begun testing the news with versions of the News, Home, Bag and Recorder apps for the computer, 2018. This time, the initiative is expected to evolve, with a larger offering of Mac-optimized App Store apps.

It is also said that Apple may be releasing the long-awaited new version of the professionally designed Mac Pro, cylindrical computer that hasn't been updated since 2013. Behind the scenes, it is rumored that the machine will get a complete redesign with customizable hardware. Apple may also announce news for ARKit, animojis, Apple Arcade and the abandonment of Intel processors to adopt its own chips in its line of notebooks and desktops.
