Wrap / secure the MacBook Pro charger cable easily with the Side Kick

Perhaps the most recently initiated in the Mac world have not had contact with this, but there was a time when the Apple computer chargers were a beautiful piece of engineering, with two tabs that unfolded and allowed the cable to be rolled up and secured around the energy block itself.

That, of course, was in the distant and longing days of MagSafe – afterwards, USB-C came to make everything the same and without that dose of good design. For those who still want a simple solution to wrap and store your Mac’s charger, however, we have a good tip.

THE Side Kick is a small accessory from Fuse, which produces accessories for Macs. It acts like those PopGrips that have become quite popular on smartphones recently, sticking to the surface of your charger and expanding or retracting as needed.

When retracted, it makes almost no volume in the energy block; when expanded, however, it serves to wrap your entire cable and secure it at one end, making the charger much more compact, easy to store and tangle-proof. It is the era of intelligent design returning to the Mac – only not by the hands of Apple.

Despite being intended for MacBook Pro chargers (even for its white plastic finish that perfectly matches the design of the components), the accessory can be used on any power block (or surface) of at least 7x7cm – because of that, it is not compatible with the MacBook and MacBook Air 30W charger. The sticker leaves no residue and is reusable.

Side Kick is currently listed as a Kickstarter project, and has already exceeded its fundraising goal by almost 10x. You can contribute with a minimum of $ 12 to receive an accessory unit, or higher values for kits with multiple copies; production should start next month and deliveries will start next June.
