World's fastest “Mac” is a Hackintosh

Apple can manufacture beautiful machines, use excellent quality components and ensure full integration between hardware and software, but even the options of a Mac Pro are still somewhat limited by it.

To challenge the power of today's most complete Mac Pro, a user set up a Hackintosh named SuperMax: it has two Intel Xeon “Westmere” processors hexa-core 3.33GHz with overlock for 4.2 GHz (those of Ma vo up to 2.93 GHz) and 24 GB of DDR3 RAM.

Result?

Benchmark of Hackintosh SuperMax, via Cinebench

Yes, the machine outperformed the Mac Pro in benchmark Cinebench 11.5, according to the graph above. Discarding a series of other aspects for this analysis (including noise and overheating of the machine, hehe), the fastest “Mac” in the world, today, even a Hackintosh.
