“Works with Apple Health” seal launched for products / services compatible with Apple’s health platform

With the increasingly accelerated growth of its Cheers (Health), nothing more natural than Apple implementing new features that please developers and enrich third-party products and services compatible with it. Today is one of those days.

Earlier today, Apple posted on its developer portal an update to the guidelines for the HealthKit. There are two main novelties, both involving interface guides for services and products integrated with the company’s health platform.

To start, developers and manufacturers now have the seal “Works with Apple Health” (“Works with Apple Health”). It works in the same way as the program “Made for iPhone” (MFi): the seal can be applied to a product or software to let consumers know that they are purchasing / using a creation designed to work with the Apple health platform.

To complement the novelty, Apple updated the interface guidelines for software integrated with HealthKit. There are some specific guidelines, such as positioning and size of icons related to the company’s brands – developers cannot use the term “HealthKit” publicly either, being limited to the “Apple Health” brand.

In addition, Apple requires that software integrated into its platform have a consistent and always visible privacy policy, clearly showing users that access to their health data is collected only when necessary. It is also necessary to offer detailed messages when the applications in question need to access the platform data, so that people know exactly what they are dealing with.
