Planting bloggers can raise their hands in the sky and say thank you. For bloggers, even on the go (on the bus, on the subway, on the plane …), one of the most famous blogging platforms is now available for Android devices. If you thought about Tumblr or Blogpost, you were wrong: we are talking about WordPress. Interested? So keep reading our review today.
Functions & Usage
Device: Samsung Galaxy NexusAndroid version: 4.0.4Root: SimMods: CyanogenMod 9Once you have downloaded the WordPress app, you will have to set up your blog, either through WordPress or even a blog that has its own domain. You can also create a new blog on WordPress using the app, as well as manage more than one blog.
Once you have adjusted these preliminary aspects, the app home page will be displayed. From it you can create a new post, for example. To do this, choose a title, tags, and categories for your article. If you do not want to post your post immediately, you can save the article as a draft and determine the specific time and date for publication (the time can only be provided from US AM / PM). The post format can be changed to audio, image, gallery, message and more.
A fairly simple editor assists you with the content of your post. Text can be formatted, links and videos can be added and you can use your own fingers to change the width, placement of images and the line of tags in the article to be designed. A new page can be configured similarly. Post photos and videos through the cinch main menu.
Something important for a blogger to be able to moderate reader comments. WordPress gives you a comment system or you can use a plug-in that syncs comments with the WordPress database. Comments can be posted, deleted, marked as spam, or answered. This feature works very well.
If the app doesn't support anything, no matter what you're trying to access, use the main menu to access your blog's actual dashboard. Statistics are also available and can be accessed as long as you log in again. Finally, with respect to the settings: it is possible to add a signature to posts and posts can be activated through new comments.
Conclusion:We were really impressed by the quality of WordPress for Android. It makes life much easier for those bloggers who manage more than just one blog. The app brings all the most important features and the main menu connects the user to the actual dashboard where you can find all the features not available in the app.
Screen & Controls
The user interface of WordPress, although blogging platforms are not the simplest in the world, interesting and quite objective. Admittedly, we were very impressed with the fact that all the most important functions of WordPress were laid out very clearly in the interface created for the Android version. The application's main menu is equally simple to navigate.
And if that is still not enough to convince the user, we should still speak well of the phenomenal work done in terms of design: the app looks very sophisticated yet intuitive.
Speed & Stability
WordPress publishes articles fast or no. This all depends on the Internet connection available to the blogger user. All features worked wonders and the app proved satisfactorily stable.
Price / Performance Ratio
WordPress is free and can be downloaded from the Play Store.
