WhatsApp has begun testing a new function that makes messages disappear automatically after a certain period, similar to Telegram's secret chat. According to the specialized site WABetaInfo, the app will allow you to program the validity time until the content of the conversation is deleted. Functionality testing only appears for groups, but can also reach for chat between two people.
According to the publication, the function of "self-destructive" messages is in the Alpha phase of development, which means that it is still undergoing initial testing and may be delayed until it is released to all. The news comes for a small group of users in Android 2.19.275 Beta, but is not yet operational.

Once released in WhatsApp, according to WABetaInfo, The function will be made available in the information menu that appears by tapping a group or contact name. By clicking on "Missing Messages" (Disappearing messages), the user will have the option of setting the expiration time to five seconds or one hour. It is not yet known whether the final version of the feature will offer these same options.
According to the website, after activating the function, "any message will be removed automatically (after the scheduled time) and there will be no traces of the chat deleted". If this feature is confirmed, the deleted content should not even show the notification that currently appears when a person deletes their own chat sent no more than seven minutes ago.
