WhatsApp's long-awaited group privacy feature is available to all messenger users as of Wednesday (6). The function was in testing a few weeks ago and can now be used by anyone without having to have the beta version of the app installed on their mobile phone. With the news, you can prevent friends and strangers from adding you to chat groups without your consent.

Step 1. Open WhatsApp and access the messenger settings. Then touch "Account";

Step 2. Open "Privacy" and tap on the new option "Groups";

Step 3. Finally, choose the desired option. To prevent anyone from adding you in groups, choose "Contacts only except …" and select all contacts by tapping the button in the upper right corner of the screen. Finally, tap on the green button to save. In this case, the only way to join groups is by invitation.

Step 3. To prevent anyone from adding you in groups, choose "Contacts Only, Except …" and tap "All Contacts." Finally, press "OK" to save. In this case, the only way to join groups is by invitation.
