WhatsApp releases group calls with audio and video for everyone | Social networks

As of this evening, WhatsApp participants gain a new way of communicating: the messenger releases group calls with audio and video. Several users can simultaneously participate in videoconferencing, with the same features that made Skype an important application in the PC world. The novelty applies to Android and iOS, the iPhone system.

Supporters of the messenger test edition, called WhatsApp Beta, have had access to the tool since June. However, this Monday the global announcement takes place. In Brazil alone, there are more than 120 million WhatsApp users. Another important market, India has over 200 million members of the chat.

How to listen to WhatsApp audio without the sender knowing

The most popular messenger in the country is not the first to offer a video call. Recently it was Snapchat's turn to present a similar feature, with a maximum capacity for 16 people. During the testing phase, WhatsApp group conferences were limited to four participants. The messenger confirmed to the dnetc that this is the limit when launching the tool.

Our users like this feature so much that they spend more than 2 billion minutes a day on calls, said those responsible for the app about audio and video calls with just one person on the other end of the line.
