The major improvement in integration makes it possible to support animated stickers. When the feature was launched in the messaging app last October, all available images were static. Step 1. Open Gboard in WhatsApp and tap the sticker tab. Note that there are several options with an arrow in the left corner, which indicate that the images are animated;

Step 2. Tap the sticker to open it in the WhatsApp editor. Make any changes you wish, and then press the arrow to send the sticker. It appears as an animated GIF, even with the edits;

Step 3. To view more stickers, click the "+" sign. Stickers that have a play arrow are animated.
