WhatsApp limits message forwarding; Facebook Messenger, Philips Hue and PES 2019 get updates

And we're bringing back the coolest and most relevant recent updates from popular apps from App store! Shall we see them?

Whatsapp

The most popular messenger in Brazil is implementing a change that, for some, may be positive; for others, not so much. From now on, the message forwarding limit becomes 5 conversations or groups previously you could forward a message to up to 20 contacts or groups at the same time.

The change had already been implemented in India, one of the countries where WhatsApp is most popular, due to a lynching wave that hit the country motivated by rumors spread by the application that killed 27 people. Now the rest of the world is also getting the same limitation because, in WhatsApp's own words, the service is a "private messaging application", not the active dissemination of unverified information.

If the fake news of your family group will shrink or not, already just another five hundred. The change is already being implemented globally and all users should receive it over the next few weeks.

In time, the latest app update (2.18.111) brings up the new screen to start a group call now, instead of starting the call and then adding the other contacts, you can select all your friends at once if call them at the same time.

Instagram

The social network of photos and videos, in turn, has announced an improvement to its newly added video calling feature: you can now simply swipe up during a call to add more people to it.

You can now add people to a video call on Direct. Simply swipe up while chatting to add more friends and keep the conversation flowing.

The news is already available on the latest version of Instagram.

Facebook Messenger

Facebook seems to have worked hard to bring news to its products in recent days, as three of its properties are highlighted here today. In the case of Facebook Messenger, the improvements are specifically in your camera.

What's New in Facebook Messenger Camera

The messenger area for taking pictures has gained its own Portrait Mode, similar to Focus introduced by Instagram some time ago. The feature, of course, entirely software-based and machine learning, and seems to be unique to selfies The idea is to recognize a face and “blur” the entire background of the image, which produces less accurate results than Apple's systems, but it takes for granted.

In addition, the latest app update also features native support for Boomerang videos and an augmented reality feature that allows you to place platform stickers on your own photos or videos.

Philips Hue

Among the home automation options, Philips Hue lamps are some of the most affordable and popular on the market today. Recently, the application responsible for their control has received a much-requested update from users.

Prior to the update, the lamps behaved strangely after a power outage: they all lit up at full brightness when turning on, no matter what their previous state, which could be a nightmare if the light went out, say in the middle of the night.

The problem is now corrected, and when the power comes back on, the lamps automatically go into the state they were in before the drop. For some reason this is still a setting that you should enable within the app otherwise they will simply keep turning on at full brightness after the crash which for me is inexplicable.

PES 2019

The eternal dispute between those who prefer PES and those who prefer FIFA will never end, but the two titles are undeniably more committed than ever to bringing news to their players. Recently, Konami has released several new features in Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 for iOS.

In addition, data from various new teams, players and coaches has been added to a number of leagues around the world, as well as new legends and items.

We also have new features such as hiring players for change, live updates, featured players and improved accessibility with more languages and the removal of power mechanics.
