WhatsApp announced on Wednesday (19) the launch of an information area on the new coronavirus, with the aim of supporting the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The service, available on the web for all users of the application, is a partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and UNDP, and offers simple guidelines for the period of isolation and quarantine caused by the progress of the disease, such as symptoms and preventive measures.

In addition to hub For information, WhatsApp also announced a $ 1 million donation to the International Fact Verification Network (IFCN) of the Poynter Institute. Some specific sections offer tips for health professionals, educators, NGOs, governments and companies, as well as news about using WhatsApp to fight the disease.
