WhatsApp is optimized for the iPhone XS Max and gains continuous audio playback [atualizado]

Facebook has just released an update for Whatsapp optimizing the messenger for the 6.5 inch screen of the iPhone XS Max. In addition, iOS users were rewarded with some interesting news, including: redesigned action menu, continuous playback of voice messages and more media options to answer contact status!

Regarding the action menu, in previous versions of WhatsApp, when touching and holding a specific message for a while, a horizontal menu was displayed with options to forward, copy, reply, etc. In this update, this menu has been completely redesigned and is now displayed vertically, highlighting the message you selected.

Regarding the reproduction of voice messages, in this update it is possible to reproduce multiple audios in sequence (at once), without the need to select them one by one. In addition, new options for replying to users’ status messages with documents, voice messages, location and contacts were added – before, it was possible to send only images, GIFs or videos.

THE WABetaInfo also found in the code alpha of the new version that future WhatsApp features will include a Dark Mode and the ability to view videos from notifications, as is already done with images and GIFs.

WhatsApp Dark Mode

As it is possible to notice, the balloons of received messages are darker and those of the sent messages adopted a new shade of green. THE WABetaInfo pointed out, however, that WhatsApp has chosen to use these colors now, but that the appearance may change until official launch. For now, there is still no information on when this feature will be made available.

More news coming directly from WABetaInfo!

Still in internship alpha, WhatsApp is starting to implement support for Touch / Face ID.

When activating the feature within the “Privacy” area of the app, a layer of security is then added that requires biometric authentication every time the app is opened.

Everything is still under development and, as always, it may not be implemented anytime soon – or even be discarded (although this option does not make much sense). But here’s more good news!
