2015 has been a good year for WhatsApp: the app has gained voice conversations over the internet, customer web and a new look in the first months of the year. Today the news backup of messages through Google Drive. The function came with version 2.12.45, has been withdrawn and is now finally fully integrated into the messaging app.
The only version of WhatsApp that supports Google Drive backup at 2.12.303. The function can be found at Menu> Settings> Chat Options> Conversation Backup and, for now, it is still in English.

In Google Drive Settings you can configure how often the backup (off, daily, weekly, or monthly), which Google account you want to link to, and whether backup will be performed only by WiFi or by cellular network as well. Simple and easy to understand.
To get the function I need to update your WhatsApp with the official website version of the app as it is not yet available on the Google Play store.
