WhatsApp can earn Boomerang function for Instagram style videos | Social networks

WhatsApp is preparing a Boomerang feature for short videos of up to seven seconds, similar to what currently exists on Instagram. However, there must be a difference in usability: in a demonstration obtained by the specialized site WABetaInfo, the shortcut to Boomerang is next to the button that turns video into GIF. The modified content can be sent in private conversations, groups or in Status update.

The function is still in the testing phase. There is no set date for the release, but according to the publication, the news should come first for iPhone (iOS) and then land on Android.

The Boomerang effect applies an animation that reverses the playback of the video and has the potential to make the funniest cell phone recordings, something that falls may pop up, and vice versa.

The WhatsApp development team would be working on the feature in the last few weeks to make sure everything works without bugs. As it is still in an experimental stage, it has not yet been released for all users of the beta version of the app.

According to WABetaInfoIt is likely that the feature will be released in the future in a major upgrade, along with multiple device compatibility. Last week, the same site unveiled WhatsApp's plans to release use of the same account on more than one device.

It would be possible, for example, to talk via iPad with mobile contacts without having to resort to tricks with WhatsApp Web and not even having the phone connected to the Internet. It is not yet known, however, whether the Boomerang function will be brought only to the mobile app or also made available to tablets.
