WhatsApp Business gains greater integration with Facebook | Social networks

Facebook launched new tools to facilitate communication between companies and customers. The novelty comes in the form of an API for WhatsApp Business, which will allow companies to add messenger buttons on their websites or in advertisements on Facebook itself, so that the public can start a chat immediately.

The new set of tools (called API) also allows corporate profiles to send consumers automatic information, such as a boarding pass and purchase confirmation, in addition to providing real-time support, all via WhatsApp. The funds are paid by the company that joins Business.

Unlike the original WhatsApp Business app, exclusive for Android and aimed at small businesses, the initiative presented this Wednesday (1) is developed for medium and large corporations. Membership depends on the approval of the application, which is working with selected companies, such as Uber and Wish.

The proposal of the new tool is to offer companies a system for managing communications with customers on a large scale. It serves to receive and send messages to people who initiate contact through other channels, being especially interesting when the consumer asks for information via WhatsApp. The communication remains encrypted from end to end, as in the case of individual chats.

The API can also be used to personalize notifications with relevant and non-promotional content, such as event reminders and merchandise shipping confirmations, for example. When a person contacts the company through these channels, the commercial profile will have 24 hours to respond to the customer free of charge. After the period, the brand fee will be charged.

Facebook ads with the WhatsApp button will redirect you to a conversation in the messenger with some details already filled in, where the customer can inform what they want quickly. Companies that adopt the API for WhatsApp Business will have additional metrics in the Ad Manager, including conversations initiated and the number of messages originating from Facebook ads.
