Users of the beta version were the first to receive the update that standardized Whatsapp emojis with iOS, in September 2016. The goal was to facilitate communication by emojis in conversations between cell phones with different operating systems. In addition, beta users also first saw the increase in gender diversity in the stickers.

The standardization did not last long, since in October 2017, Whatsapp decided to redesign the icons and launch its emojis with its own design, first for beta users. The messenger followed in the footsteps of Facebook, which also created exclusive designs. Soon afterwards, Whatsapp launched 60 new emojis for the beta version. With this, all users, regardless of the operating system, can view the same faces.

The tool allows the message to be deleted from all cell phones involved in the conversation, and not just yours, as it was before.
