what we can expect from Nokia in 2017

In 2016 we were just promising to see the Nokia brand launch new smartphones running the Android operating system. I confess that it was frustrating to see no models on the market last year, but things are expected to change in 2017. According to a distributor of the company, we can expect between 6 or 7 Nokia smartphones with Android before the end of this year.

In the image below we have a slide from an institutional presentation by Avaxx, a distributor of Nokia / Microsoft in Malaysia. As you can see, in addition to the reference to the franchise title "Star Wars – The Strike Backs", we have the statement of the launch of a Nokia smartphone with Android "by the second quarter of 2017", and that "a total of 6 or 7 models "will hit the market before the end of the year. Of these, we can expect "inbound, intermediate and top of the line" smartphones.

Among the devices that have leaked information on the network so far we have the Nokia D1C, a mid-range device that should arrive with a 1080p screen and Android 7.0 Nougat from the factory. Incidentally, all Nokia smartphones are expected to have software very similar to pure Android, just as we have seen Motorola do a few years ago.

Another device that even had images released is the Nokia P or Nokia P1. This would be Nokia's flagship in 2017 and should have 6GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 835 processor.

Nokia's first smartphone running Android is due to be announced during the MWC 2017, Barcelona's technology fair, which will hit the market in the second quarter of the year.
