Uber unveiled the Ride Pass, a new Netflix-style subscription race service. In it, the user pays a monthly fee to be entitled to low price races at any time, even on days with a lot of traffic or bad weather. The novelty starts operating this Wednesday (31) in five cities in the United States (Los Angeles, Austin, Orlando, Denver and Miami) with a monthly value of US $ 14.99 (R $ 55.72 in direct convert) except in Los Angeles, where the $ 24.99 fee will be charged. The service can be used in UberX and uberPOOL modes. There is still no information on the launch of the Ride Pass in Brazil.
The company estimates that the subscription should generate savings of 15% for consumers, who will not have dynamic prices applied to their travels. For Brazilian customers, Uber launched on Tuesday (30) a revamped category by replacing uberPOOL with Uber Juntos, available on the app for Android and iPhone (iOS) phones. The idea of ​​shared races remains the same, however, the user must walk a short distance to a nearby location to get into the car. The promise to increase travel speed by avoiding unnecessary routes.

"The Ride Pass was designed to eliminate the guesswork, so you can confidently plan your day with Uber, without unwanted surprises," explains the text to publicize the new product. According to the company, the benefit will soon be extended to bicycle loan services and scooters at no additional cost, starting in Los Angeles.
The platform allows users to confirm the savings made on each route traveled with real-time updates. The subscription is automatically renewed per month and can be canceled at any time. The company also informs that drivers of the service will not be penalized and will receive in the same way as in a regular race, based on the time and distance traveled.

Uber announced the new modality shortly after rival app Lyft launched a subscription service called All Access-Plan (full access plan, in free translation).
