We have already commented here on the blog what to do when your iPhone or iPad crashes or, for some reason, you need to force it to restart: just hold for a few seconds the front button (Home) and the device rest button, until the logo of the apple appear on the screen.
However, with the iPhone 7 (and the next ones to come) the procedure is another if you need to restart it. See how.
The big problem is that the iPhone 7 no longer has a real front button. The call “Home button”Is now a part of the screen, which vibrates when you press with your finger to mimic the feel of a real button. As we have already commented here, it does not work with objects, nails or when the device is turned off, and for this reason, it is no longer used to perform a forced restart on the device.
As it is no longer possible to use the front button when there are problems, Apple started using another button to replace it in this function: the Lower the volume. Then, here’s how to do it in the following procedures:
- Hard reset: press and hold the Sleep / Wake and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Hold them until the apple logo appears. Release them and wait for the device to restart.
- Recovery mode: press and hold the Sleep / Wake and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Do not release the buttons when you see the Apple logo. Keep them pressed until the recovery mode screen appears.
THE hard reset it is a forced restart of the device, for when it hangs or needs to restart. The recovery mode serves to reinstall the entire system in cases where it is not possible to access it anymore.
Remember that the trick does not apply to devices with a fully discharged battery. In this case, it is necessary to leave at least 20 minutes connected to the electrical current for it to signal life.
It is very important to know this procedure in case you or someone close to you needs it.
