What if iOS 14 brought multiple Docks instead of just one?

Conceito de mĂşltiplos docks no iOS 14

IOS may have undergone several changes and improvements over its 13-year history, but at least one element has remained constant throughout that time: the Dock, which – except for some visual changes – has remained unchanged at the bottom of the home screen of iPhones, iPads and iPods touch since 2007.

Because the designer Alessandro Chiarlitti decided to imagine a complete renovation for the Dock in a possible iOS 14. How, exactly? Simple: instead of one, you would have multiple Docks, with different functions, to switch at your leisure.

Did not understand? Because this tweet video shows what I’m talking about:

The video gives just one example of what multiple docks could allow (easy musical control), but, if you think about it, the possibilities are endless: you can add a Map Dock for quick navigation guidance, a Weather Dock with updated weather forecast in real time, an iMessage Dock with your recent conversations… the list goes on!

Thinking with a little more optimism, Apple could even open the resource for developers, making that area extremely dynamic and completely changing the use that you make of your device’s home screen.

Obviously, the idea would be more meaningful for iPhones and iPods touch, considering that the iPad already has its area of widgets on the home screen. Still, it would be great to see something like that on iOS 14, don’t you think?
