What and who Instagrammer?

The term Instagrammer means, in the free English translation, someone who uses Instagram. Thus, the word can indicate any user of the platform that is sliding in the feed or in the Stories. To divide the categories, however, the expression most used to refer to people who make money from the social network.

Typically, brands seek to implement advertising on the Instagram profile of users who present the construction of lifestyle or ideas, in addition to having a high number of followers and a wide reach (likes, comments and views of Stories). The feed of these influencers is usually organized, with color standardization or following a specific publication line.

Most professional Instagrammers are young, and work similarly to digital marketing experts. They usually have a detailed look at each publication, from the angle of the image to the caption, as they seek to study their audience and build a personal brand to attract attention.

It is possible to divide Instagrammers into two groups: the first, with celebrities already known outside of Instagram, such as actresses, athletes and singers who work on the platform in an attractive way for brands as well. The second is made up of influencers who grew up on social networks and have a loyal and important audience for companies. In these cases, they can range from cooks to doctors, entrepreneurs, personal trainers and bloggers.

How does an Instagrammer make money?

As already mentioned, to be a professional Instagrammer, the user must have a high number of followers and a relevant reach for brands. In addition, it is important that the digital influencer also communicates with a certain group of people who follow the profile of the target audience of the company that hires them.

From the numbers and the study of the Instagrammer profile, brands can pay a specific amount per post, according to the sales generated from the link disclosed by the influencer or with rewards for the results achieved.

There are cases in which companies determine which publication should be made, however, some allow the digital influencer to publicize the product as they prefer, through photo, video or temporary Stories.

Something that is also common among brands and digital influencers is a kind of barter, an exchange without the use of money. In this case, Instagrammer is responsible for publishing, for example, a photo of a hotel or a clothing store. As a form of payment, the company allows the user not to pay for accommodation or to choose which parts to take.

How much does an influencer on Instagram earn?

Often the amount charged for publications on Instagram are not disclosed by influencers only if it is a company interested in having a sponsored post. Prices can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars.

In July, social media management company Hopper HQ revealed the world's ten highest-paid celebrities on Instagram. In the ranking, first place was the sister of socialite Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner. The estimate is that the company, with 110 million followers, earns about US $ 1 million (R $ 3.7 million) per publication on the network.

Following, the list includes singer Selena Gomez, with 138 million followers in posts valued at US $ 800 thousand (R $ 3 million), and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, with 133 million followers and publications valued in US $ 750 thousand (R $ 2.8 million).

In these cases, it is worth noting that the number of followers does not always determine the value of the publication, since the group of people who follow a profile can be more valuable in a small influencer account than in an Instagrammer who communicates to a niche very diverse.
