What and how does Google Pay work? Learn how to use the payments app | Productivity

Google Pay is an app that finalizes smartphone payments on Google stores, on the web, and on products like Google Play and Chrome. That way, Google offers a service that promises to be safe and practical for the user. Available for Android phones, the tool supports banks and companies such as Banco do Brasil, Caixa Econômica Federal, the insurance company Porto Seguro, Bradesco and Ita Unibanco. In addition, other types of cards, such as gift cards and loyalty cards, can be linked, making it possible to manage payments quickly and efficiently.

For security reasons, the software prevents screen captures in sensitive parts of the procedure, such as during password entry or financial operations. Remember that Google Pay is not available on the App Store, Apple's official iPhone app store (iOS).

1. Register or verify your card with Google Pay

Step 1. After installing the Google Pay app on your Android device, the service will identify the cards already linked to Google account. At this time, you can continue setting up with the suggested card, or add another card.

Card verification can forward Google Pay to your credit card-specific application. 2. How to add a second card

Step 1. Open the app and select the "Payment" option at the bottom of the screen. Then a screen on which your default card will appear at the top. Choose the "+ Payment Method" option at the bottom. 3. Change card settings on Google Pay

Step 1. Open the app and choose the card added in the "Payment" section. Then select the three point menu at the top of the screen. Thus, you can remove the form of payment or disable the contactless payment option;

Step 2. If you wish, add a "nickname" form of payment. You can also check the terms of contract and privacy policy of the bank providing the card in question.

4. How to make a payment

Step 1. Make sure your merchant is accepting Google Pay. Move the device closer to the payment machine like a card. It is not necessary to open the application;

Step 2. Then check out the notification issued by Google Pay itself. It contains the purchase data. Remember that the actual number of your card will not be shared with the store. If you want to check the record again, open the app and scroll down to the main screen. On this screen, go to the "Recent Activity" section, responsible for notifications.

5. Change Google Pay Settings

Step 1. Open the Google Pay app and click on the three stripes symbol in the top corner of the screen. Then go to "Settings";

Step 2. In the "Settings" menu, you can choose between "General", "Notifications" and "Sending Money". In these menus, change the settings by moving the key located next to each option. A gray color indicates that the option is not selected, while a blue color means that the option is enabled.
