Western Digital today launched the new My Book Studio Edition II in silver as an update to the line. The storage solution comes with two 2TB hard drives together in RAID 0, delivering 4TB users of storage in a model ideally designed for Mac users.
With so much capacity, the new My Book will become very popular for those who want to keep backups of a lot of content or store a lot of material in high definition video. And since they are already pre-formatted in the HFS + file system, used on Mac OS X and Time Machine, they are ready for use by Mac users as soon as they are unpacked.
In addition to the gigantic storage, the novelty of the WD is also fast: the hard drives used inside it are GreenPower, which deliver greater speed than most competitors and are more economical. With this, the company was able to give the new model four different types of connections to connect it to your Mac: the FireWire 400 and 800 ports, together with USB 2.0, will be more popular among notebook users and iMacs, while those who own a Mac Pro can also use it with an eSATA connection, by installing an additional card.
My Book Studio Edition II costs $ 650 and can be purchased from the manufacturer's website.
