Western Digital Launches World's First USB-C Portable External SSD Ready

Western Digital today launched the My Passport SSD, extending its traditional and famous line of portable external drives to SSDs.

Very beautiful and sturdy (WD says it can fall up to 2m in height without problems), the product will be marketed in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB versions (as we know, the strength of SSDs compared to conventional HDDs * in * capacity) and provide high performance, reaching speeds of up to 515MB / s.

My Passport SSD is also ready for the USB-C world with a native cable. Inside their box, however, consumers also get an adapter for the USB-A standard.

Prices range from $ 100 to $ 400 in the United States (easily found at Best Buy stores). It has a three-year warranty.
