Website isolation in Chrome helps prevent CPU vulnerability

Google today announced the discovery of a serious CPU vulnerability that could affect almost all existing computers.

To mitigate the possibility of data theft, Google suggests that users enable the site isolation feature in Google Chrome.

“Google's site isolation feature improves security for Chrome browser users. When you enable this feature, the content of each site opened in the Chrome browser is always rendered in a dedicated process, in isolation from other sites, ”the company explained.

"This creates an additional security limit between sites," he points out.

Increased security, however, can mean about 10-20% more memory usage – which is not recommended on computers with low available RAM.
