Warzone: the new Call of Duty is a free battle royale for PC, PlayStation and Xbox

Activision announced the new Call of Duty: Warzone, a free new battle royale, based on what is one of the most popular franchises in the genre of first-person shooter. The game will be available from today, March 10. Those who have the latest Modern Warfare will, however, be able to play before the rest of the users, since they will be able to access the title a few hours earlier.

For now, Warzone will have two game modes – battle royale and plunder – and a map called Verdansk, which supports up to 150 players simultaneously. In battle royale mode, the objective is the usual one – to be the last player (or team) alive on the map – but in the plunder, which is less common in the genre, the idea of ending the game with more money than the other participants. In this case, you can accumulate wealth by finding resources on the map, eliminating opponents and completing the contracts that are emerging. Note that these contracts are nothing more than specific objectives related to the dynamics of the match.

Another very characteristic mechanic is the Gulag. This system causes the player to be sent to a prison after being slaughtered for the first time. The prison will always be populated by players in the same condition. Here, having to face another player in a one-to-one challenge, in which the winner gains the right to meet with the team in the game arena. If you lose, you will only be able to play in the same game again when your teammates manage to acquire a "respawn" for your character.

If you already have the latest Modern Warfare, know that the weapons and skins you have won can be used in Warzone. The progress made in this new game can also be carried over to Modern Warfare.

It should also be noted that this battle royale is a multiplatform game, so you can play matches with players from other systems.

Finally, it remains to be noted that it will take 101GB to install this new Call of Duty.
