Video: watch a gang enter an Apple store and steal 19 iPhones

Definitely Brazil is far from being synonymous with tranquility when it comes to security. Speaking of Apple, it turns and moves us to see some news involving theft of goods, assault, etc. But anyone who thinks that this is a Brazilian peculiarity is deeply mistaken, that this kind of thing does not happen abroad. We have already reported several cases in the United States (like this one in New York) and in Europe.

This week, there was one in Natick, Massachusetts (USA), as reported by the MetroWest Daily News.

The Natick Police Department shared the video above in which we see a gang stealing about $ 13k on iPhones of the Apple Natick Collection (Ma store located inside the Natick Mall). The seven thieves entered the store, pretended they were testing the devices and quickly ran away, disappearing with 19 iPhones in their hands. Still according to the police, the group may be related to another robbery similar to the one that happened in Hingham last week.

Most likely, this Apple store is not part of the pilot program that we discussed earlier in the week. If it were, these iPhones would already be completely useless due to the security layer implemented in the devices' software. This does not mean, however, that Apple does not know exactly which phones have been stolen and that it cannot otherwise render them unusable, ending the chance that thieves will earn some money by reselling the products.
