Video: it took a few weeks, but this guy managed to install a headphone jack inside the iPhone 7!

A few months ago, we published here the adventure that Scotty Allen of the channel Strange Parts, from YouTube made it possible to assemble your own iPhone. On multiple trips to China, he managed to accomplish the feat by spending only $ 300 in parts.

Because he is now back with a project that at first sight might sound simpler, but it ended up proving even more complicated and costly than the first. After weeks of work, he managed to install a headphone jack (3.5mm jack) inside an iPhone 7!

Before you leave calling him a beast / idiot for “wasting” so much time and spending so much money (on parts, tools, a printer and even a microscope!) While he could just use a Lightning, Bluetooth headset or even buy one of those iPhone 7 cases that have a built-in outlet, the joke here was just to see if he could accomplish such a feat no matter how difficult it was.

a project pretty for those who enjoy electronics and DIY (do it yourself, that is, do it yourself). More than half an hour of video that is very worth watching if you enjoy this kind of thing.

And Allen not only posted the video showing it all in detail, but also published the design of his flexible circuit board on GitHub and is selling a limited version of it for $ 30, already framed. Too much!
