This is not a problem of any kind, just a curiosity. If you place your iPad close to your MacBook's hand rest area, chances are it will go to sleep mode (sleep). The following video shows this clearly:

Apparently, what causes this are magnetic contacts on your speaker when they approach the magnetic closure of the notebook, giving the impression that the lid has been closed. What a thing, no?
