Shortly after Xiaomi officially arrive in Brazil, the global vice president of operations Hugo Barra granted an interview Bloomberg (video above) and returned to responding to accusations about your company copying Apple ideas / designs.
The thing has actually been going on since 2011, when the CEO of Xiaomi practically copied an entire keynote from Steve Jobs. Barra today claims that it was all “just a joke” and that no one in Xiaomi himself took it seriously.
The case intensified in October last year, when Apple's design chief, Jony Ive, said in all letters that he saw what Xiaomi does as "theft". The Brazilian at the time responded in a similar way to the new interview, claiming that everything in fact would be based only on the bevel of the Mi 4 and that Apple would not have the right to take ownership of a generic smartphone design. It's just that easy to say today, when the iPhone (re) set the standard used by the industry in 2007.
The executive also affirmed that he sees a strong prejudice about the possibility of a Chinese company like Xiaomi being really innovative and capable of producing high quality devices, although with lower prices than those of the competition.
It is worth remembering that Barra himself came to say, also last year, that he thinks the iPhone 6 is the most beautiful smartphone ever created.
