Valentine's Day wins Google Doodle | Internet

The doodle was made especially for Brazil, since, unlike other countries, we do not celebrate the date on Valentine's Day, on February 14. Here, exactly 70 years ago, Valentine's Day celebrated on the eve of St. Anthony's Day, popularly known for helping single women find husbands.

The choice of the different date, however, was purely commercial. In 1948, the advertising company Joo Doria (father of the former mayor of So Paulo, Joo Doria Jr.), was hired by the Exposio Clipper store to improve sales, always weak, in June. Inspired by the success of Mother's Day, he decided to create Valentine's Day, and developed an advertisement that stated: Not only with kisses that love is proven !. The following year, other stores joined the idea, making the celebration popular in the country.
