Amazon Drive is the cloud storage service for Amazon users. It offers 10 GB of free space and has simple menus and settings. The platform has limited capabilities when compared to rival Google Drive, with fewer integrated services and reduced possibilities for sharing and collaborative documents.

How to use Amazon Drive web version

Step 1. Go to the Amazon Drive website and press the "Login" button in the upper right corner;

Step 2. Log in to your Amazon account to proceed;

Step 3. Note that three folders are created automatically as soon as you access the service for the first time. In them you will organize your files. From the cloud drive home screen, select the "Upload" option and go to "Files";

Step 4. Use the file explorer to select the file on your computer you want to save to the cloud and tick the "Open" option;

Step 5. You can create a new folder or use one of the available folders on your drive. For this example, we will use the "Images" option;

Step 6. To upload the file, confirm the choice of folder with the "Add to Images" button;

Step 7. A window in the lower left corner of the screen will display details about the upload progress and inform you that the file will be available on mobile and the Amazon Drive PC or mobile app;

Step 8. To view details on service usability, select your name in the upper right corner of the screen and go to the "Manage Storage" option;

Step 9. Under "Your Storage Plan", check the chart to find out how much free storage is currently in use;

Step 10. Return to the drive's home screen and access one of the folders to view the stored files;

Step 11. Tick the left checkmark thumbnail of a stored file;

Step 12. With the file selected, check the options at the top of the screen. You can use sharing options, download the file, rename them, move them to another folder or delete them from the drive;

Step 13. Select one of the files to open it;

Step 14. Once that is done, use the options at the top of the screen to download the file, share it, move it to another folder or delete it from the drive.

How to use the Amazon Drive app

Step 1. Install Amazon Drive on your phone and use an Amazon account to access your drive from your phone or tablet;

Step 2. When accessing your drive, three folders will be presented as storage destination. To see more options, tap the three dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen. There you can add files, select folders, create a new folder or sort the view by date. For this example we will use the option "Add files";

Step 3. You can choose the camera option to make a photo and save it automatically to the drive, explore other upload options and, as we will do in this tutorial, access the "Photos and Videos" option. Then select the images you want to upload and tap "Next";

Step 4. Tap the "Choose a different folder" option to proceed. In the next window, choose one of the folders;

Step 5. Tap the "Set Location" option and in the next window "Upload" in the upper right corner;

Step 6. In the folder you uploaded, tap one of the files to open it on the screen. Then tap on the three point icon in the upper right corner of the screen to see the options;

Step 7. You can delete, rename or download the file to your device. To continue touch "Cancel". Then press the sharing cone at the top of the screen as shown in the image below;

Step 8. The app lets you share a public file preview link, email the attached document or send it to other apps;

Step 9. On the Home screen, go to the "Settings" tab and check the options for the application. The tool allows you to check the progress of uploads in "Upload Status", open the service management page, send comments, check legal notices, check the app version and sign out of your account on the "Sign Out" button;

Step 10. Go to one of the file folders and tap on the three dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen. At this time, the options for the folder will be displayed. For this example, we will use the "Select" option;

Step 11. Tap the files to have them selected. At the bottom of the screen will appear options for sharing, moving documents to other folders, deleting and downloading.
