Twitter for iOS reaches version 7.0, bringing significant visual changes

O Twitter today announced a new look for its iOS app, which is gradually being released to users who upgrade to version 7.0.

Generally speaking, it is now on par with the Android version and in fact brings some very similar visual elements (like a new side navigation menu).

What's new in version 7.0

We present a renewed look that makes Twitter an even easier place to find out what's going on in the world and what people are talking about right now.

  • The new side navigation menu allows you to access your profile, accounts, settings and privacy with ease. All in one place.
  • Clearer titles and more rounded designs throughout the app make it easy to identify and focus on what's important.
  • Links to articles and websites are now opened in the viewer in the Safari application, which gives you more control, makes it easier to access the accounts you signed in with and allows you to access Reader mode.
  • We make the icons more intuitive to make it easier for you to follow and participate in what happens on Twitter.
  • The tweets are now updated in real time with responses, retweets and counting likes so you can easily see conversations as they happen.
  • Accessibility settings are now in an easier place to view. There are also new configurations available, such as greater color contrast and the opening of links in the reader mode, to improve reading on some websites.

In the coming days, some changes will also appear on Twitter, Twitter for Android, TweetDeck and Twitter Lite.

Unfortunately, the version for macOS was left out of the news:
