Although wireless charging has been around for a long time, it really got a big boost when Apple’s 2017 iPhone lineup, including the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, started supporting wireless charging. Since the launch of the new iPhones, many third-party accessory manufacturers have doubled their efforts to manufacture wireless chargers. Out of all these third-party accessory manufacturers, Belkin is one of the best, if not the best, company that manufactures wireless chargers. The Belkin F8M747bt Qi Wireless Charging Pad (₹ 2,999) is the company’s basic wireless charger and in this article, we’ll take an in-depth look to see how good it is. So without wasting any more time, here’s our review of the Belkin F8M747bt Qi wireless charging pad:
What’s in the box
Let’s start our analysis with what you will achieve after making the purchase. Good, the device comes in a very unpretentious cardboard box . There is nothing fancy about the packaging, which is understandable because it is a basic Belkin product. Separate packaging, here are the things that come in the box:
- Belkin wireless charger
- USB-A to micro USB cable
- paperwork
Specifications
When you are shopping for a wireless charger, there are only two specifications that really matter. The first is the charging technology that the charger supports and the second is the charger’s power output, which determines how quickly devices will charge with this charger. As a general rule, you should buy Qi wireless chargers as it is the standard wireless charging technology supported by all wireless charging devices out there. The rest of the specifications are mentioned in the table below.

Design and build quality
When it comes to designing and building quality, I think Belkin did a good job with its F8M747bt Qi wireless charging keyboard. The top of the block has a rounded square design with a Belkin logo and notification LED . The surface of the charger has a matte finish that is very smooth to touch and prevents the phone from slipping even when you answer a call. There is also a bright circle in the middle of the magazine that outlines the loading area.
The bottom of the device tapers into a circle that has a rubberized finish to prevent the charger from slipping on the surface where you place it. There is a nice cutout that houses the micro-USB port that is used to power the device . The charger is very light and portable. Nevertheless, I am very happy with the design and build quality of the charger and I have nothing to complain about.
Loading and Performance
One of the best things about the Belkin F8M747bt Qi wireless charging keyboard is that it supports 5W / 1A outputs, which means it will charge your devices relatively quickly. Although it is not as fast as the dedicated fast wireless chargers, it will be fast enough that you want to use it daily. If you’re looking for numbers, I was able to charge my iPhone X from 20% to 43% in 60 minutes .
Remember that you will need a charging adapter with at least 5W / 2A output to operate this charger at full capacity . If you are using a charging block that produces less power than the recommended range, your device will be charged slowly than we found in our tests.
Intangible
For me, wireless chargers are one of the few products where intangibles matter as much as all other facets of products. It is because you are not buying a wireless charger because you want the fastest charging speeds in the world, but you are buying to convince what it offers. In fact, when it comes to speed, wireless charging won’t be able to overcome wired charging anytime soon.
If you are using a wireless charger, it means that you’re using it for its ease of use and the fact that it has less than one cable to worry about . I put mine on my nightstand, where I place the phone when I’m asleep and wake up to a fully charged phone. Due to wireless charging, I no longer have to mess with wires in the dark of night.
Although the Belkin wireless charger makes all of these things possible, not everything is good here, as there are some things I hate about it. First of all, the wireless charger comes without a charging brick . This means that you will have to use your own charging pad to power the device, which is an annoyance. In addition, the notification LED on the device only lights up when you put a smartphone on to charge what confused me when I used the device for the first time.
Belkin Wireless Charger: it’s time to cut the chord
The Belkin wireless charger is a very good product, which makes charging your wireless devices very easy. Since the charger supports the Qi wireless charging standard, this means that you can charge any smartphone that supports wireless charging. There is nothing I don’t like about the device other than the fact that it doesn’t come with a charging brick in the box.
Pros:
- Charge your wireless device
- No need to mess with cables
- Works on all smartphones that support wireless charging
Cons:
- Does not come with loading bricks out of the box
- The notification LED only lights up when charging a smartphone
- It is not a fast wireless charger
Belkin wireless charger: Charging your smartphones just got easier
I love the Belkin wireless charger because, for a very reasonable price, it takes the hassle out of managing multiple cables. I can now charge my iPhone X and Galaxy S8 with a single charging cradle. If you have a smartphone that supports wireless charging, the Belkin F8M747bt is the right product for you. But that is just my opinion.
