Tim Cook to advise new Trump administration “Innovation Office”

O Washington Post published on Sunday (3/26) that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, then announce the formation of a “Innovation Office” (“Office of American Innovation”) in the White House.

The office, which will be led by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will have the power to modify some federal bureaucracies and probably even privatize some services. The initiative should be very focused on data and technology, and count on CEOs of large companies (old or current), some to buy the team, others just to advise. Among the big names are Tim Cook, Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla / SpaceX), Bill Gates, Marc Benioff (CEO of Salesforce), among others.

According to Kushner, this is "an offensive team", despite being non-ideological. Diverse people both inside the government and outside as entrepreneurs, philanthropists and academics will also be part of the initiative. The intention is to conduct some operations as companies do.

"We must have excellence in government," said Kushner on Sunday, in an interview at his West Wing office. “The government must be managed as a large American company. It is our hope that we can achieve successes and efficiencies for our customers, who are the citizens. ”

Initially, some projects aim to modernize the federal government's technological infrastructure, change training programs outside the workplace, and reorganize the Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, the office will also create "transformative projects", which will benefit from the $ 1 rail proposed by Trump's infrastructure plan. One of these projects would be to bring broadband internet to all Americans as it has happened since the previous government in relation to poor schools in the country, and Apple has already contributed a lot to this.

Despite Ma opposing many of the current government's principles, taking a stand several times against some measures, Cook himself has already met both Trump and his son-in-law. As this project seems to focus on technology, we hope that the cooker represent Ma well, making good contributions there.
