Tim Cook Receives Role Award in LGBTQ Rights Fight

Maybe you have never heard of GLSENbut she strives for an extremely noble goal: the American organization dedicated to working to end discrimination, harassment and bullying targeted at children and youth in the community LGBTQ in primary and secondary schools in the United States, creating awareness campaigns for the free expression of gender identity and sexual orientation of all.

This week, the organization announced that no less than Tim cook be awarded the Champion Award, 2019 edition maximum prize of Respect Awards It is a ceremony dedicated to honoring important figures for the struggle for LGBTQ rights and for raising society's awareness of different gender identities and sexual orientations.

GLSEN justifies Cook's choice for his "continued commitment to the fight for LGBTQ rights and the creation of safe spaces for community members." The executive, in turn, shared a few words of gratitude about the choice:

I am grateful to GLSEN for the honor and all the work they do to ensure that the LGBTQ community is treated with dignity and respect. At Apple, our commitment to inclusion helps us improve our work every day. Innovation depends on a willingness to accept new ideas, a culture of curiosity and an atmosphere free of shame and stigma, and this applies not only to Apple, but to everyone.

The Respect Awards 2019 will be held in October 25In the city of Los Angeles we will look out for Cook's thank you speech, which will certainly bring a good deal of uplifting messages.
