The short video app TikTok It may not be well known in Brazil, but its extreme popularity in Asia has generated both negative and positive bans on India, as well as positive: for the fifth consecutive quarter (!), the app was the download champion of App store.
The discovery of Sensor Tower, which recently published its quarterly study on the performance of the world's top two app stores. While the Whatsapp was the most downloaded app in the world on Google Play (and counting the two stores together, as shown below), TikTok was unquestionable champion in Ma's shop.
In the App Store, second place went to YouTube (for the second consecutive quarter), followed by the Instagram, fur Whatsapp and at Facebook Messenger. Two aspects are remarkable: the growth of the Twitter, which ranks 16th in the list but has had the highest number of downloads since early 2015, and the way iPhone downloads predominate in the list.
In the ranking covering both stores, it is most interesting to note the absolute dominance of Google Play over the App Store as we have discussed several times, the Google store surpasses Ma's in sluggish downloads, but the App Store champions in profit because its users generally spend more on apps (and within them).
