Recovering deleted photos from WhatsApp is possible with three easy to perform tips. Many users find themselves deleting some image or video and then regretting it. To get the media back, the most reliable and effective solution is to have a backup saved to your smartphone. However, there are other simple ways for Android and iPhone (iOS) to get the lost file. 1. Asking the person you sent
If you clicked Delete Me to delete an image, you can still recover it with the person or group you submitted. Choosing this option will delete the image from your device, but it does not mean that it has disappeared for everyone. However, if you deleted it by clicking Delete for All, a way to recover if the contact you sent it to shared with another user before you deleted it.
It's worth mentioning that there is a trick to seeing deleted messages on WhatsApp: using Notification History, a free Android app that lets you read the deleted content for everyone in the messenger. The same app also makes it possible to hear audio excluded from the platform. However, it is not possible to view images and videos with the tool.

2. Restoring from a backup
Another way to recover a lost WhatsApp media from a backup. The Android app version allows this to be done with Google Drive, while the iPhone (iOS) version saves history in iCloud. It is also possible to make a local backup, saved directly to the device. For this method to work, you must have the feature enabled before you have deleted the file.
Step 1. To access the backup, click on the Menu, located at the top right with the three dots symbol. Then go to Settings> Conversations> Conversation Backup;

Step 2. In the Conversation Backup screen you can see the date of the most recent backup, as well as the frequency with which it is configured. You can set whether it will be done via Wi-Fi only or via 3G / 4G connection as well as including videos or not. To back up via Google Drive, I need to select a Google account;

Step 3. If the file was deleted before the last backup, you can recover it by uninstalling the application and reinstalling again. After confirming your number, there will be a prompt to restore messages that were stored at the time of backup. Click "Restore" to do this.

3. Checking WhatsApp Folder on Device
This method works for Android users only. WhatsApp saves all media files received and sent in a folder on your device. Even if you have deleted an image, it may still be in this folder.
Step 1. To access it, download some file explorer application such as File Manager ASTRO. V at Internal Storage> WhatsApp> Media;

Step 2. You will have access to the images in WhatsApp Images, the videos in WhatsApp Video and even the audio files in WhatsApp Audio. When you choose any of the media folders, you will see all the files you received. To access the uploaded content, click Sent.
