The dear and famous analyst Ming Chi Kuofrom TF International Securities, is back today with more possible information on this year's iPhones (and possibly also iPads Pro).
According to information obtained from sources in Apple's supply chains, devices to be launched in 2019 will come with a new antenna system focused on improving indoor signal range and accommodating new frequencies ultra wideband.
Instead of liquid crystal polymer antennas (liquid crystal polymer, or LCP) used today, the new iPhones and iPads Pro will adopt “modified polyamide” antennas causing a 10-20% increase in the cost of these antennas to Apple.
Kuo himself had already made these bets in November 2018, but as we are now much closer to the launch of these new devices, it is likely that he has obtained new confirmations and has thought it right to reiterate the information.
New iPhones are expected to be released in September / October, while new iPads Pro are expected in the fourth quarter of the year.
