Third generation iPad will be considered classic / obsolete from this day 31

From this Tuesday, October 31, the 3rd generation iPad officially enter Apple's classic / obsolete product list, thereby losing its support qualification after five years from the date of its discontinuation.

Apple classifies it as “classic” (vintage) products that have been discontinued for more than five and less than seven years, as at that time it is still required by law to provide support for them in Turkey and the US state of California. After seven years, everyone is considered “obsolete” (obsolete) and actually lose support worldwide.

New iPads - white and black

The third generation iPad was announced by Apple at a special event held on March 7, 2012, being Ma's first tablet with a Retina display and which was well criticized for not having a hardware (with A5X processor) really suitable for this in the it was quickly succeeded by a new model a mere seven months later. It was also the last iPad with a 30-pin connector.

Recently, other products that made the list include the latest white MacBook, MacBooks Air / Pro 2011 and iPhones 3GS. Curiously and ironically, the iPad 2 has not yet entered as it continued to be marketed by Apple (as a more accessible option) until March 2014.
