These four technologies will be on your smartphone in the future!

The doldrums of the latest generation of smartphones are already beginning to impact sales of this type of device and have even hit heavyweights like the iPhone. But there are already enough cool technologies to rekindle consumer interest.

In the next few lines, I select four features that have a good chance of being part of the next generation of smartphones and that, in fact, will improve the life of the user. Check out how each feature works.

1. Unlock your smartphone with the look

Fujitsu has developed a technology that can instantly read your ris, whether to unlock or make a payment on your smartphone. The iris is a fingerprint, something proper to each individual, and is very difficult, not to say impossible, to be reproduced.

This new system works thanks to the combination of a camera and an LED, both infrared. The LED emits a light that the human eye is unable to see but changes in the iris and the camera is able to pick up on these changes and identify the person.

The Japanese company ensures that this technology is much better than the more fault-prone fingerprint sensor. According to Fujitsu, the functionality would be available by the end of 2015.

2. The cloud be the new HD of your smartphone

A company called Nextbit is developing a smartphone that promises to end all your space issues when storing data. This is Robin, a phone that will be 100% cloud-integrated and transfer photos, music, documents and even applications to a 100GB cloud service.

The whole process can be done either by 3G / 4G network (but you would need a master data packet) or by Wi-Fi, as long as the phone is connected to such a network. Even though Robin has a 32GB internal memory, it will always be free because of automatic backup to the cloud.

To top it off, the phone comes with a custom version of Android, a 5.2 inch FullHD screen, Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 13MP (front 5MP) camera. Developed from a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter it will cost $ 399 and is now available for pre-sale, with the first units being delivered early February.

3. A more accurate 100x GPS

Although geo-localization services are really useful, on some occasions they get us down for a lack of precision. But engineers at the University of Texas at Austin have developed an ultra-precise GPS system whose accuracy can reach a few inches from where the person is positioned.

For this to happen, the system uses so-called GRID, small, low-cost receivers that can be installed on smartphones and maintain more accurate communication with satellites, increasing its accuracy considerably – by up to 100x to be exact.

In addition to finding everything you need more easily, this new GPS system would allow your smartphone to map your entire 3D surroundings, enhancing the virtual reality process. Samsung is already interested in the news and has partnered with Radiosense – The startup created by the researchers who created the technology to bring it to their next phones.

4. Your smartphone with multitouch screen on any surface

Lenovo unveiled a smartphone prototype late last year whose built-in laser projector turns any smooth surface into a multitouch screen.

The smartphone bears the name of Smart Cast and, in addition to projecting video and photos on the walls, transforms smooth surfaces into multi-touch sensitive objects such as a keyboard, musical instrument and even games like the classic Fruit Ninja, as you can. Watch the video below:

For the multitouch If it works, Lenovo has developed a technology called "Digital Light Processing" that is powered by a tiny projection module (34mm x 26mmx5mm) that the company claims is the smallest in the world.

The company did not disclose more details of the smartphone (release date, price and settings), but we may have news at Mobile World Congress 2016, which takes place in late February in Barcelona. And AndroidPIT be present to follow everything closely.
