After Democracy, Justice, Ethics and Education, the series of MeetOn events, promoted by APDSI, will lead the new generation of mobile communications to debate.
On the table will be the great advances that 5G provides in terms of data transmission speed and network response and the capacity for simultaneous connection of devices, but also the possible impacts that the implementation of the technology may involve, namely in environmental and health terms of citizens.
To speak of the advantages and likely consequences, Ricardo Mexia, president of the National Association of Public Health Doctors, Lus M. Correia, professor at INESC-ID (Institute of Systems and Computers Engineering, Research and Development) and at the Instituto Superior Tcnico (IST) and Jos Pedro Nascimento, Director of Engineering and Operations at Altice Portugal.
The 5G online meeting on mobile communications: from the technological revolution to impacts takes place through the Zoom platform on the 16th of July, starting at 6 pm, and is free, but mandatory.
MeetOn are short, informal and targeted events that APDSI has been promoting through videoconferencing. Testimonies of Digital Transition in Education and Ethics and Technology @ Covid-19 were some of the topics already discussed.
