Since 2005, the Google Maps application is a "guide" to help navigation around the world, with more than one billion users.
The creation of the Mountain View giant was to replace paper maps with digital versions, all while keeping pace with technological developments.
Over 15 years, Google has been registering, through the Street View functionality, some of the most impressive landscapes in the world, giving users the possibility to explore places never before visited from their mobile devices.
Of the 170 billion photos captured, the company decided to share its 15 favorites.
In a special publication on the Google blog, users can not only view the captured photos, but also navigate within the images via Street View.
In addition to being able to climb to the top of Mont Blanc, El Capitan, or the Andes mountain range for a visit to Machu Picchu, the most curious can even go to the International Space Station.
Users can start their digital journey with a visit to the interior of the Sagrada Familia, one of Antoni Gaudi's most famous works, take a "jump" to Japan to see the cherry blossoms, sail along the Rio Negro while enjoying the forest landscape Amazon and go to Finland to see the northern lights.
But not everything, as the celebrations of the 15 years of Google Maps were marked by the arrival of some news in the application.
Featured are five new main tabs: Explore, Commute, Saved, Contribute and Updates.
To keep up with the evolution of the application, Google has also modified its logo, keeping the pin as a common element over the years.
